Taste of Downtown Disney Returns for a Good Cause

Downtown Disney will be celebrating its tenth anniversary of the Taste of Downtown Disney on August 10th. Meant to be a fun evening of delectable delights for participants, the event also serves as a fundraiser to benefit CHOC Children’s Hospital.

Enjoying the Taste of Downtown Disney Experience

Participants in the Taste of Downtown Disney enjoy a progress tour through a reception of culinary creations and select pairings. The event includes visiting a number of different locations and sampling from various businesses within Downtown Disney. These include:

• AMC Theaters
• Catal Restaurant & Uva Bar
• Earl of Sandwich
• ESPN Zone restaurant
• Ghirardelli Chocolate
• Jamba Juice
• La Brea Bakery Café
• Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria
• Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen
• Starbucks
• Tortilla Jo’s
• WonderGround Gallery

At these various locations, guests have the opportunity to savor the fine cuisine, wine and spirits that each has to offer. After visiting the various locations included in the experience, participants enjoy a finale hosted by Master of Ceremonies, KTLA’s Henry DiCarlo. The evening will then be topped off with live music and a special onstage art experience with artist Jimmy Mulligan.

Taking the VIP Experience

As an added bonus to this year’s event, Taste of Downtown Disney will also offer four exclusive VIP experiences. These experiences include the following additions to the evening:

• Tequila Lounge presented by Tortilla Jo’s
• Disney Film Magic at AMC Theaters
• CHOCO-late Experience presented by Ghirardelli
• Champagne Tasting Experience at WonderGround Gallery

Each of the four VIP destinations will have only a limited number of spaces open for guests to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience.

Raising Money for a Good Cause

Proceeds from the Taste of Downtown Disney go toward helping CHOC Children’s Hospital, which provides health care programs, education and research for Southern California’s kids. Founded in 1964 and affiliated with the University of California, Irvine, CHOC Children’s Hospital is committed to providing the highest quality medical care to children. The hospital’s pediatric healthcare network includes a state-of-the-art 279-bed main hospital facility located in the City of Orange as well as a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo. CHOC also has several specialty care clinics and primary clinics as well as over 100 additional programs and services. CHOC also has four centers of excellence: CHOC Children’s Heart Institute, CHOC Neuroscience Institute, CHOC Orthopaedic Institute and CHOC Hyundai Cancer Institute. With the help of the Taste of Downtown Disney event, Downtown Disney hopes to reach a goal of raising $100,000 for CHOC.

Purchasing Tickets for Taste of Downtown Disney

Tickets for the VIP experiences at Taste of Downtown Disney vary depending upon the experience you wish to enjoy. Tickets for the Tortilla Jo’s Tequila Lounge experience are $250, while the Ghirardelli CHOCO-late Experience is $225. Meanwhile, both the AMC Disney Magic and The Art of Champagne at WonderGround Gallery are $200 each.

The Downtown Disney District is part of the Disneyland park, which is located at 1313 S. Harbor Boulevard in Anaheim. There is no cost to visit the Downtown Disney District in order to enjoy its many restaurants, shops and entertainment. Parking is free for up to two hours or for four hours with validation from a participating location.
