Regardless of the neighborhood, most of the homes in Ocean Heights were built around the year 2000, with most boasting three or four bedrooms and ranging in size from 3,500 to 5,500 square feet. To go along with the Mediterranean influence of design, many homes boast Italian cypress, olive trees and California oak trees as part of their landscape.

The Newport Coast Lifestyle

An affluent community located south of the main body of the city of Newport Beach, Newport Coast was a separate census-designated place in Orange County until it was annexed into Newport Beach in 2001. With a population of around 10,000 people, the master-planned community was developed by Irvine Company. A private company headquartered in Newport Center, the Irvine company was responsible for the planning of the city of Irvine, which is home to around 250,000 people. The Irvine company also owns several large retail centers, including The Market Place, Irvine Spectrum Center and Fashion Island. The company also owns many office properties in the Irvine and Newport Center areas as well as the Fox Plaza in Los Angeles and the MetLife Building in New York City.

Homes within the Newport Coast region range from small studio apartments to ocean view mansions. Despite the variance in property types, residents of Newport Coast earn more than the national average. According to the 2000 Census, the median household income in the area was $164,659 while the median income for a family was $173,043.
