Exciting update incoming! ?
According to the walthamforestecho, lbwalthamforest has announced the preferred location for its new lido, with a vision to create a health and wellbeing hub at Low Hall Sports Ground (just behind St James Park) ?
Historically there were several lidos in the area (including hollow_ponds_), but they were sadly all shut down in the 70s and 80s. Building a new lido has been the tireless focus of local campaign groups for years ????
Low Hall is near the argallwayleyton and Lea Bridge, on the boundary of Walthamstow and Leyton. It includes a nature reserve which would be preserved and existing sports facilities which would be updated & improved were this to be approved.
The lido would form part of a proposed nature trail for Lea Bridge (a big point of investment for the council), connecting it with nearby Walthamstow Marshes and the Wetlands and would be run by better_walthamforest.
NEXT STEPS
Cabinet need to approve the proposals, and then a detailed business case covering costs, feasibility, and planning requirements will be prepared. Area residents, sports groups, and local businesses will then be consulted ?
A report seeking to proceed with the vision and preferred location for the lido will be taken to Cabinet on Thursday 1 December 2022.
This plan is completely separate to eastlondonwaterworkspark amazing plans to create a natural swim spot on the old Thames Depot opposite theprincess_e5.
How does the saying go? You wait for ages for outdoor swimming and then two come along at once? Jokes aside though, how awesome would it be to get both a natural swim spot and an outdoor lido in the borough?!

????? Essa é a minha segunda experiência desvendando crimes ao lado de Poirot, um dos detetives mais conhecidos da literatura mundial e é sempre um prazer ler livros da dama do suspense. Os crimes ABC foi até agora a narrativa da Agatha Christie que li mais rápido, o livro é bastante fluído, de leitura fácil e com uma proposta de crime que prende nossa atenção até o final. Como sempre acontece não consegui antecipar o plot twist da história e foi uma surpresa descobrir quem era o assassino, a autora sempre me engana.
Os capítulos são bem ágeis e senti que até as mortes são meio no estilo fast dos psicopatas ansiosos. Como leitora fiquei esperando o derradeiro momento do deslize do assassino, aquele que conseguiria desvendar quem era e os motivos por trás das escolhas das vítimas.
Quem está buscando um suspense rápido de ler, esse é uma excelente escolha.
